May i know which part of germany are you located ? i am in Neuss. I like basic life, that's why i grow own vege and trying to raise own animal.. but not allowed to do that in kleingarten. so.. do it in super small scale ..so won't get into trouble.

Sadly, Kleingartenanlagen don't allow chickens at all. But if you have a small garden/yard, you might even keep two or three, if the space is right.

Provided neighbor won't complain of noise.. some just plain don't like chicken. Think it is smelly or unsightly.
There are some kleingarten allows chicken. The kleingarden beside Romerlage kleingarten has got a few people has chicken.. even have roaster.. can hear the morning call a distant away.

I see, you live in northern area already. I went to my brother in law in Bremerhaven.. the kleingarten beside his house is totally dissolated.. no body do gardening there.. lol saw 1 garden has got pigeon.. a lot of em.

No, a lonely chick will snuggel up to his buddy and feel safe. Even if you have more chicks, they do love their teddy bear until it is time to get under the broody hen:

Do you install a heater under the teddy bear ? lol how come there is a electric wire to teddy bear ?

I don't have a teddy bear, i did put a wooden carved little girl in the brooder, the chick does not stay by the girl..lol i put a block of wood, hopefully it will perch on it to get closer to the heat source, but it does not know..

As i said, i used to raise a lot of chicken. I have never pay this kind of attention to a chick before .lol
Now in Germany, the environment is different, i don't have a land.. only a kleingarten. and the weather is much colder.. and this chick is orphan..

No electric bear here , it is just the cable from the thermometer.

It has to be something soft and fuzzy like a broody's down feathers. Some people even use a woollen hat or shawl to make the orphan comfortable.
