I went into El Paso today and stopped at Michaels because Hobby Lobby didn't have the fabric I wanted. I've never been in Michaels before,, it smells but that's beside the point. I asked a person at the door where the fabric is and she said they don't carry fabric, just scraps. So she pointed me towards the scraps... the scraps are FQs,, bundles and singles and they are clearing them out! They are .49 for a bundle of 5 FQs!! .49 for single FQs,,, needless to say I bought a lot of FQs! They had some that were higher end that were marked from 9.99 down to 6.99 but next week they are supposed to be .49 for those bundles too,,, I'm going back,,, but check yours and see if they are on sale too!

You are so right WoW. Sometimes you can find the best deals there. Gotta look all the way to the bottom of the shelf/bin. They sometimes have nicer higher quality goods mixed in.

FQs are Fat Quarters, used a lot in quilting and sewing. I just learned that myself recently but the cheapest you can find them is $1 each at Wal Mart so 5 of them for .49 cents is fantastic!

I had never heard of Hobby Lobby, until last year when they bought a school in the town i work. They are planning to open a christian/arts school in 2012. Someone told me Michaels has something to do with it too.
So i thought hobby lobby was a group of investors but it seems it is a craft supply????????

I admit to being pretty darned excited when she told me they were clearing out the "scraps" lol,,,, I'll take them!! Now if only I could score on some seam bindings and stuff for my aprons!

Actually Mr. Green, the founder of Hobby Lobby is from my home state of Oklahoma. He started the store making canvas on frames for painters and expanded to include all kinds of crafts stuff and home decorating lines. He started a Christian bookstore called "MarDel's Christian Bookstore" named after his son. Hobby Lobby has always supported Christian values and schooling so I'm not surprised they bought a school site.

Thank you for that history Nana it's very interesting! They've made a few small donations to my Kid's Club too, some embroidery thread and needles and hoops, very good corporation.
