Hi, we've had chickens for nearly 4 years, at the moment we've got 7 layers and two newly hatched chicks. They're a whole mix of breeds. We're planning to hatch out chicks this year to raise the females for eggs and the males for meat. Though our pathetic start of two chicks out of twelve eggs doesn't bode well ..
