my silkie rooster keeps wandering around well after dark and i don't know what to do to keep him from it. i can't keep him locked up because of extreme heat, so what should i do?

do they have a coop with a closeable door????


if so use it.

maybe he's looking for a place to roost?

chickens can't see at night I thought

idk but we lock them in every single night and we've never left the door open, so i'm not sure what's the matter with him

Somewhere I read a post about roosters being up at night they all found a reason, one was rats or mice (can't remember) and someone else had a skunk hanging around that they did not know about, he may be protecting his hens from something you have not noticed yet? IDK just remember reading about it.
