hmm what else will i need?

I cannot say that I have the answers, but I would like to SEE the answers, so I'm replying to up to get this question back on the Recent Posts list. Good luck!

Are you going to get the auto-egg turner? You might also want a hygrometer (sp?) to keep tabs on the humidity.

Good luck! Have fun!

Many folks seem to be successful at turning the eggs by hand. The problem seems to be that all that opening of the incubator (to hand-turn the eggs) plays havoc with the temperature and humidity inside the "bator.

I'm planning to use an egg-turner. (The fewer difficulties, the better, as I see it.)

ok so looks like all i need is the hygometer? and then a egg turner unless i can turn them 3-4 times a day by hand?? is that it?

I know some people have had some success with this little machine, however, I have not. I did use it to build a bigger better one with the heting element. That was the only piece I used from it. I added a fan and a more reliable thermostat. Oh, and I did buy an egg turner. If you do use it, make sure when you lift the lid to lift it with out flipping it. Straight up and straight down, this wil help to maintain the temperature. A hygrometer can be purchased from Wally world or from home improvement store for pretty cheap.

I sometimes turn by hand if I have all the incubators running. 2 do not have turners.. I hand turn 3 times a day, morning, around 2 p.m. and then one last time at 11 p.m. You will need to buy a thermometer/hygrometer to measure your temps and humidity levels. Just have patience with your bator and get it set up at the correct temps before trying to set good eggs and hatch.

ok my bator will be here tomorrow!! i got a thermometer/hygrometer today!! im ready to go.. wait... i need eggs!! SILKIE or frizzle eggs !! YAY!! im excited! now to search for eggs!
