I was at my parents home this past weekend and visited the farm store nearest their house because the had laying crumbles, chick feed and scratch all on sale for $7.97 per 50 lb bag, so I loaded up.
Well the scratch feed had whole corn instead of cracked (what my usual brand contains cracked) and my hens won't touch it. I only give a little thrown about their run to give them something to scratch for and keep them out of trouble so they don't get much. But I have all these whole kernals of corn lying about. I think maybe in "my sparetime" I'll sweep them up and plant them in the run and let them eat the sprouts.
