So, I have a pilgrim goose who I hatched from an egg as a pet a couple years ago. She's just started laying eggs for the second time, and since I found them I want a gander so it isn't so pathetic when she goes broody.
Does anyone know whether an imprinted goose and an imprinted gander would breed, or even just get along? I think I've heard that a bird who thinks they're a person won't breed with normal birds, but I don't know. She just chases our ducks away from her pool when she wants in it and then avoids them.
Next, would it be a crime to breed a goose that's not the standard, and I dunno how far away, who is undersized, has lop-sided lobes and maybe other faults that I don't notice because I've never seen other pilgrims to compare? How bad are those?
Awaiting responses.
