hehe in my house there is only me and him, and him wont eat any eggs, unless its in baking etc. thats why i didnt want too many eggs, but it also meant it was totally my choice to get ducks!! my sister and mom will be taking some too!!
My sister has already been trying to convince me to hatch ducklings, tho she wont have any, just because my 3 month old nephew stops crying when i play a video of the ducks quacking, its quite funny to see him go from screaming red face, to instant silent bemusement as soon as he hears the wack wack noise! but, apart from the fact i need eggs to hatch! i am not making duck babies, because knowing my luck they will all be boys, then i will have to keep them all, then i will have to get them all lots of girls....and on and on and on....!!
we did have a foster st bernard dog from a rescue who used to have an egg a day, in his previous home he had his own chicken that he used to mind and apparently he'd sit all morning waiting for her to deliver his present!! I gave him an egg and it was amazing to watch how gentle he was with it, licking it and very gently putting a small hole in the shell to lick out the inside, not one single drop wasted! and he was entertained for a good half hour! but nfortunatly he chased sheep so had to go back
