hmmm.... really "show quality?"

Hey Speckledhen, here is a bird for you. I just love the color. This is not my bird, it belongs to Matt from SC. It is 7 months old here.

It shows how the waddles don't show at all but my guess is they are non existant.

This is just me...but he doesn't appear to have much.

Here are some photos of my Self-Blue (He's in BAD shape. I will NEVER put feather-leg birds in a cage again!)

My bird is about 7 months old in these photos. I don't even know if he HAS wattles! lol

It would be best to visit a d'Uccle forum and ask.

I'm completely unfamiliar with this breed but one thing I noticed is, he seems to be completely lacking any mottling? Aren't Porcelains supposed to be mottled also..?

Tails seem rather short on both.. the color pattern on the rooster doesn't seem quite right to me so I tried googling for pictures, it seems from other pictures the roosters more or less show a "duckwing" pattern on the pattern with a darker row wing coverts and darker tips to the wings. This rooster seems to have a completely solid colored wing.. could be they are still very young and that row might come in later. But then his leg feathers seem very brown compared to mostly blue on other roosters, which could be related to the solid looking wing.

Here are some pictures to show what I mean:

I do love feathersite..but one question. What in the world is the difference between a Self-Blue and a Lavender's coloring??

Ugh...So why state the Self-blue?? Why not just call it a lavender instead of confusing the heck out of me!

So at a show...should I enter my bird under Lavender or Self-Blue?
