they havnt molted yet and are still very young and growing feathers still. i am not sure if there colors will change because they have already changed colors 2. and the reason there feathers on there feet are brown is because they get them wet and then run around in the grass, twigs, and on rocks wich die the feathers "if white" a brownish color. but if you lock them up somewhere where they cant get them wet then there feathered feet look WAY better. and i also think it is just the picture i looked at the feather site pictures and he does look like that.

Let me tell you a story about today.

I went to a show. My son showed his Ameraucana rooster and hen. There were only three Ameraucana roosters. His rooster got second in the breed. The one that beat him was knocked knee. I mean really bad. That rooster went on to get best of breed and Reserve in the class. I talked to the breeder that I got my son's chickens off of. She said the rooster that won should be thrown out because of the legs. So at the end of the show, I talked to another judge and had him place the chickens. He said that rooster should of been thrown out because of the legs, but since it was children showing he would of placed it lasted. I am new to showing so I am trying to learn as much as possible.

So the moral of the story is show them if you want to. You never know what judge you will get.

Speaking as judge I'd have to say those appear to be pet quality birds. Discussion of the colour really doesn't matter as they display poor type but there are problems with their colour.
They are much too long in the bach & tail carraige is wrong. Also the beards should be much fuller.

How about we simplfy this a bit...

Do YOU think they are show quality? Because if you dont, and you aren't happy raising them, then what does it really matter whether they are show quality or not?

Unless a bird has a severe defect or disqualification, ANY bird can be entered into a show therefore making it "show quality." It just may not place, or win a blue ribbon.
