From what i understand sometimes an extra spot like that away from the chick could be just detached or "saddle" air cell that seperate from the main air pocket, i think usually from maybe rough time in shipping etc but could be wrong! We’re at day 18… candled last night and saw this spot- candled again this morning before lockdown and have awesome movement!
But what is this spot? So weird
These aren’t shipped eggs. They’re from my flockFrom what i understand sometimes an extra spot like that away from the chick could be just detached or "saddle" air cell that seperate from the main air pocket, i think usually from maybe rough time in shipping etc but could be wrong!
How would it get inside the egg? I candle at day 7,10, and 17. Never noticed it until day 17. I initially thought it was dead but then it started movingSome sort of dirt in the egg? I’ll occasionally have an eating quail egg with some random dirt in it which I’m pretty sure isn’t from the shell. In theory a bit of bedding or dirt could get into the egg ‘stuff’ before 5he shell goes on. I wouldn’t worry about bacterial contamination at this point in incubation. Whateve4 it is should just get pushed aside and abandoned with the shell at hatch.
