Not good on chicken math yet, but I believe it's 1.5 sq.ft. per chicken minimum.

Hi and welcome to BYC from northern Michigan

Actually a coop should have 4 square feet of floor space per bird, and at least 10 square feet of run - so 40 square feet inside (for example 6x7 or so), and 100 outside (eg 10x10). But I agree, bigger is better, as you always end up with more than you planned on!

thank you that's pretty much what I've come up with too I had not thought about out side ill look in to that also there is a lot to look at
