Im really upset right now. Last sunday we went to a poultry swap in clay county, FLA. We bought 2 BEUTIFUL chickens. They were a RIR and a silkie bantam. When we introduced the RIR to our NHR.... The NHR tried to KILL her!!!!! Because of this we had to put the Silkie and the RIR in the other chicken coop with our Adolescent Cochins and Japanese. (Who Really didnt pay much attention to them) The RIR started becoming sad and depressed.... you could tell just by looking at her she was not in good Physical Health.(She was not sick)My little brother LOVED that chicken so much! He loves all our standard chickens while I really like the Bantams... but anyways he decided to name her pudding becuase she was "Super Sweet".... I decided to name the Silkie, "Swiffer". Lol. So this morning I go out to our chicken coop to say good morning and feed the birds........and then I saw Pudding. She was lying down in her nest box, motionless, with the Silkie curled up beside her, trying to nudge her and then crying out when she does'nt move.... It was the saddest thing I've ever seen a chicken do. So I went in and picked up Pudding and cradeled her in my arms.... at that point I was SURE she was dead...
I went to tell my dad before my brother and his friend woke up. We decided to set her in a nice area until we could break the news to my brother.(He stood up late having a sleep over) So finally my Dad called him downstairs for a minute and took him outside to talk. When they came back, he was very upset. he was sobbing and crying. My mom then tried to comfort and calm him down... I tried to make him laugh but he did'nt by it and said;"Shut up Gavin". Any ways, to try and cheer my brother up, I would like to ask if anyone who reads this would please put on the bottom of your personal signature "Rest in peace Pudding" for the next day so I can Show my brother. That would be the best thing anyone could do for me right now.....
