she doesn't have to give her name...geesh...come on OP wake up and DO the RIGHT thing...BE THE VOICE FOR THE VOICELESS......IF you stand by and do nothing you're no better than they are IMO!

They need to be treated as anyone else, they have not went out for help for their mental issue, then they have no excuse. It's like a compulsion and they are just weak to stop themselves, they know very well it's wrong on some level but do nothing to stop it. They need to be punished, reprimanded something and sentenced to treatment. If they refuse, they should be forbade from any animal ever again.

How do you know they have not went out for help with their mental issues?

Regardless.....I see time and time again that hoarders get help with the animals not punished legally/criminally.

And what can we all do about it? We don't even know where the animals in this case are.

If you report them it would do good for the animals AND the owners. They'll be upset but it can't be healthy for ANYONE to have that many animals crammed into a small space. It's worse for the animals but there could be consequenses to the owners too. There are some dissorders/diseases that can develop from ill maintained birds in confined areas. Plus whatever sicknesses they get and whatever other things might be attracted to the droppings and spilled food.

Don't give your name when you report. Just tell the people that you think there's some mental imparments involved and you're afraid they'll lash out at you if your identity is revealed.

Why would you care if they were mad at you? You already know what to do....and you CAN do it anonymously.

Why would they care? Oh I don't know. They might burn the op's house down or something like that. You never know what will happen when dealing with nut jobs.

Did you happen to notice....you CAN call ANNONOMASLY.

OK, I did make the call.one of the children is a 39 year old nut that will hurt you in a drop of the hat. he has beat the crap out of his dad and I was just thinking of MY family.I dont want to hurt anyone and I know if they find out who reported them they will have that nut to deal with. this guy has been in jail so many times for fighting and he will hurt you. stand in my shoes and think about it and Im sure you would see my point.

Retaliation is not uncommon. Fear of retaliation is not uncommon, either, and in my view, above all else, keeping one's own family and pets safe is the priority while doing what one can safely do to report abusers. Animal cruelty is often associated with abusing family and other humans. Retaliation from those sorts could be a fact. Only the OP knows the sort being dealt with.
