Hoarding Eggs...

Some people just get defensive or feel attacked, even though there is no reason to, then deal with it by attacking. You're OK.

Often shipped eggs do get handled roughly in the postal service and the seller really has no control over that. The eggs are fertile when they leave the farm but after rideing miles of vibrateing bumping conveyer belts, going through x rays, rideing on an air plane, going in a truck over bumpy roads.....geeze I'm getting scrambled myself just thinking about it. lol I just got shipped eggs from someone here on byc and someone off ebay.....the eggs from the person on here came in perfect shape and seem to be all growing, the eggs from ebay were really wattery looking when candled on arrival and 2 had broken air cells...the air cells were also larger on the ebay eggs (this leads me to beleive they were older) Needless to say the eggs from the person on here are doing wonderful and the ebay eggs....well ... only 1 is growing. Its kinda like playing russian roulet...you never know when your gonna hit or miss. JMHO

OHHH and I forgot to answer the question...I have hatched eggs that sat on my computer desk for 2 weeks cuz I was not able to sell them and didnt have room in my bator at the time, so they sat for 14 days then I incubated and about 75% of them grew.

Oh dear. That does sound rather unpleasant. Well, forget them then. Collect your own eggs and have a great hatch! If you're only going to be collecting for ten days or so, you should have good success. I've stored eggs for over three weeks and still had a decent hatch rate with them...
