Hey dear BYC-ians!

I m Alex from Minneapolis, new to hen keeping as part f my backyard permaculture exploration. I believe with nitrogen-fixation crops and shrubs, bugs eating such vegetation are now transporting protein to hens and into human edible eggs. I believe there is not a lack of resource, just badly- managed resources. I studied Chemistry and Political science in college.

I love black color so the 6 hens currently in my house are all black (2 silkie, 2 orp and 2 slightly barred rock). Silkies are larger and more bully so i kept them in a separate pen. Here shows my orp and barred rocks at week 3.
