View attachment 1340096 Will someone please tell me what I can do for this baby. As soon as he hatched out he had bloody elbow joint and his legs were on both sides of him. They both look really wide and he keeps them bent and he will not stand up. I began 2 days ago at 1 day old, putting tape on his legs but he still WILL NOT stand upright. Is there more that’s possibly wrong with him? He is keeping his legs more underneath him now, but still will not sit up or try to walk. Thank you for any help at all . I added pictures below because I’m trying to figure out how this works

Sorry to hear it! If the tape isn’t working, and the chick isn’t walking by now, unfortunately the chick might not make it. I’ve had one or two like this and they typically die within 2-4 days. You could try feeding the bird some yolk for strength though, it may or may not help.

he seems really trembling and I just can’t keep seeing him like this

I’ve never dealt with this myself but I’m wondering it has slipped tendons and or splay legs.
I know for splay leg you can use a hobble to bring their legs under them. But if it won’t stand up not sure how helpful that would be. It’s worth a try personally.

Hopefully someone else will weigh in.

Thanks. I had that on him for 2 days and it seemed to get his legs to stay under him a lot more, but I do think it’s slipped tendon too, I both legs but I don’t know how to fix it. Believe it or not, he is somewhat trying to sit up now but he leans back on his elbows like he can’t straighten out his legs. Should I tape them straight (at his elbows?
