My mother purchased two day old chicks for Parsley. The chicks are a Barred Rock and a Buff Orphington. I have pine shavings covered with paper towels inside their brooder and all seemed fine except for a few days ago. The orphington seems to prefer sitting on her hocks (elbows) over running around on her feet. She will get up onto her feet to move to the food or water but very shortly falls back onto her hocks. I just started giving her Poly Vi Sol vitamins (no iron) into their drinking water and swirled into their yogurt. The Orphington is eating vigoursly and seems well otherwise. She also seems to prefer her right side, such as when grooming, she tilts to her right and will at times fall to that side then balances back up.

Anyway, what else can I do? I can take her to the vet (the one who saw Rosemary) but I just spent $1100 for our pets (Spike the min pin, Libby my black cat and Rosemary) over the last week and I am tapped out right now.

I've never had an Orphington before..are they prone to leg issues? Any ideas??

TIA

Edit: Oh yea, they are also pooping a green tinged turds...almost like the turds were dipped into ugly green paint. I will assume that is from Grow Gel....they have been with me now for 8 days.
