    Well there kinda a pet..

    I've always wanted to hunt hogs. I live in new york. I could get some younger hogs for not that much. We have over 60+ acres of bursh lot, that connects to hardwoods. If I let some male and female hogs go would ther survive and reproduce?

    There was a TV show on Discover last night called "Pig Bomb" about the rapidly increasing wild hog population in the US. I would certainly not want to add to the problem. Have you talked to local hunters to see if they hog hunt in your area?

    It depends on the breed of hog - some breeds go feral very easily.
    You can free-range animals however you wish on your own land, of course, but it may not be too long before they start encroaching upon your neighbors' properties, and a pig on the loose can be quite destructive.
    I have no clue what the actual legality of hunting pigs in NY might be...
