Holderreads Sebastopol Geese

I definitely want birds with good temperaments.

Look else where, lots of great breeders such as Pips&Peeps and CottageRose to name two. Those who truly love the breed and want to better it won't collect just any bird to breed to make a buck with.

We love the birds we have gotten from both above mentioned sources. Great heads, wonderful curls and sweet personalities and they are willing to share knowledge and answer questions.

Just 2 cents of info from a buyer who is very satisfied with the animals received.

Shipping two adult Sebastopols is $145 USPS express mail. It's based on weight for shipping cost. The box needed can run around 40 depending where you buy it and the shipping you select for it.

Again do your research on these geese and those who have them. There is a huge difference in quality out there.

Shellie thank you for your kind words.

Shipping should no way cost $200.!
Shipping is based totally on the size and weight of the box not destination.
While shipping prices did go up in January 2 adults birds will run your around $145.
It is pricey to get breeding stock but then you know
what you're getting and if you sell their goslings you get your investment back.

I tried joining that forum a few days ago and got an email that my login was pending admin approval, but then never received anything else... How long does it usually take?

What is the purpose of smooth sebbies? Sorry just wondering I just got my first Sebastopols yesterday the breeder had one that came from hatching eggs on a different farm

Theres really no "purpose" per se...its just the result of breeding Sebastopols into colored breeds to obtain color, however having said that there are 2 varieties of white Sebastopols, curly and smooth breasted.
The classic smooth breasted Sebastopols just have a smooth breast unlike some of the colored varieties that are seen which can run from almost completely smooth to having variations of longer or fluffy feathering. Some people like to breed to smooth birds to hopefully help improve wider feather width as when breeding repeatedly curly x curly the feathering can sometimes get stringy or wooly.
Personally I can't say using smooth birds made a notable difference in feathering my breeding program. However it doesn't hinder the quality of the curly feathered offspring with the birds I've used. Thats not to say it will always work that way. Hope this helps.
