We stopped by the farm where we are getting our hens this spring. While we were there I finally had a chance to hold one of the hens we'll be bringing home. This is the first time I've ever held a chicken with the exception of when I was a little girl and got to hold a chick. These hens seem very relaxed. She didn't fuss much at all when I got a hold of her.

Here are the rest of the birds

I wish the ground would hurry up and thaw so I can get the run built and bring the hens home already!

I wish you as much happiness with your new hens as mine have brought me. Be sure to leave enough room in the coop for more later, oh yes, you'll want " just one more"!

How fun! It was so exciting when I got my first chickens. Of course I was much younger...and you know how little kids like to CHASE chickens! After awhile the chickens stopped running away though, so it was no fun to chase them anymore!
