Based upon that, PITA, Nellie, Storm, Lark, Indigo, Cardhu, Nimbus, Kate....are all cockerels. They all tried to bite as chicks.
Our Ginny is a biter too. She's been a snot since the 1st say we brought her home. Being a Silkie her pecks don't hurt me but if she gets a burr up her butt she can grab the neck feathers of another Silkie & drag them around till the feathers fly. She's often sitting or toodling alone... no one gets near her. Dana the Dom is the only one she submits to.

Happy Wednesday

Or wacky Wednesday

This old girl is about to get clobbered - she destroyed her feed bucket yesterday, yes l left it in her stall, but I didn’t figure she would destroy a bucket that was supposedly indestructible, now this morning she has broke loose.

What Happened?!

I just found this.....

I gave them a ride back to the coop and tucked them in.

I don't know why this happened as I did not watch roosting tonight. I will have to observe things tomorrow.

Well obviously they feel their Hooman needs to play a movie out there - it’s summer and outdoor movie time!

Speaking of this, @ChicoryBlue , how is it going with Diane Ida-Biter? I'm hoping she continues to improve with her response to you. I really do think she is just mis-understood and feels under appreciated. Hopefully with time she will show her love/need more appropriately!! :fl:love:fl
Overall, her response is somewhat moderating, possibly. It sort of goes in waves. She does either tolerate or like being held a little. For instance, when she comes over to peck me and get a rise, lately she isn't looking up at me after each peck, to see if she's successfully started a fight or not. On the other hand, she's ready for any possible motion on my part that might indicate a fight. I withdrew my legs while sitting and she charged ahead at them, about to peck (but she didn't).

But there definitely could be an attention-grabbing aspect to this. Yesterday, when I had Teddy and Annie on my lap she came over. I reached down and gently held her body against my leg (no more room on the lap) without preventing her from leaving, if she wanted to. She moved away after a minute or so. Later she came back and I picked her up and had her on my lap, she was growling but didn't leave, I'm not sure if she is just compliant, or half-liked it and half didn't!

I watched a youtube video where the owner said it's a pretty good sign it's a cockerel if he bites. I never had roo's so guess it must be true. My therapist's asst says his MIL's roo not only bites but chases & attacks anyone who gets near him!

Mr P, Clyde and Mr LC don’t bite or chase me, they are nice gentlemen. None of them were biters as youngsters. Though Clyde and Mr LC did fall for my foot and my hand thinking they were a good substitute for the hens that didn’t like them. That involved ‘nipping’ my hand/foot.
