"Hole" in beak?

I noticed a spot that looks worn in on one of my hen's beaks today. It is dry and smooth, doesn't look like it's bothering her at all, and she is happy and behaving normally. Any insight?

It looks possibly like an older injury from poking her beak through some fencing, or possibly a sharp spot on a feeder.
