This is kind of what I had in mind re: an embroidered block. If I can figure out how to do it without the embroidery appearing to pull I will make something like this if you think it's ok. If I can't get it like I want it I drop back and punt....Give me your feedback.
Thanks, y'all. I still have to master the technique of getting the thread on there without it puckering.
I have the Brother SE350. A model like it was a Consumer Reports Best Buy. I bought it online at Walmart. You pay no shipping if it is delivered to a Walmart store or .97 to your door. There are patterns in the machine and it has a card that you can add patterns to. When I bought the machine I also purchased a program and card reader on which I could download additional patterns. I took a chance and bought a cd on ebay with what they claimed were compatible patterns and most of them actually work.

Chat more!! It's all totally related to your post count, every so many posts your title changes...just get more chatty! I forgot the progression, look around and see who is just over your post count and that's what you'll be next and so on.
Leeps!!! That is stunning!!!!! Wow!! Gorgeous!!! I made a practice Santa face last night...no eyes, nose or mustache and it is too small, when I cut the next one I'll bump it up an inch a square, I wa trying to use a 12" block to make into one for this swap and even with teeny seems it is 6"x 7" so I need to remeasure a bit. I found a pinky.fleshy looking fat quarter for his face in my stash and used it, my DH said it looked fine and the color is not too bright so I'll stick with that if I can get 16 out of it! I will applique the mustache on and maybe use buttons for the eyes and nose.
