Holistic Euthanasia- Anyone have expirences?

Sorry, I have not gone through this. Is there any more information you can find out? All euthanasia I'm familiar with is usually over a very short time.
Good luck with this hard decision!

I'll probably just call the vet again to find out! She kinda breezed over the euthanasia method since he still has one more week of treatment.
She's hardcore holstic, very "let nature take its course" and she implied his passing will be harmless, maybe a few days at most a few weeks. But it doesn't seem like it would be??

I'll maybe update the thread after his next vet visit, with exactly what the drops are n such.

Okay, for give my bluntness, but HELL. NO. Slowly poisoning him over the course of 2 weeks?! I guarantee there is no way that is humane. What is wrong with him and what treatment is he receiving right now?
EDIT: Just read he is paralyzed in his legs. They make mobility aids for paralyzed birds, that might be something you're interested in?

Well I would imagine it would be a mineral overdose, or mineral poisoning. That can certainly be painful depending on the substance. Organ failure being one.

I think you're right on the mineral overdose, Its a shame she's the only vet I could find and there's not a quick way to do it like for cats or dogs. I've had people offer to chop his head off but like, I gotta bury my boy. Spent the last 2 months with him in my bed. Don't want to see him like that.

If its organ failure or anything similar I probably won't do the holistic method, then. Thanks!

I agree the method seemed off. I was just wondering if anyone had any actual experience with it.

Wonder if someone could do CD on turkeys? It's fast, humane, and the corpse looks clean and whole.
