come on chickies!

Holly, what makes you think your chicks are under developed? My Blue Australorps are to hatch on the 18th and I candled for the last time last night. I was wondering about them, because I see movement, but I have never in 2 1/2 years of incubating seen air sacs like these. The air sac looks like 2 big arches in the egg and not just 1 egg the 4 I have left out of 12. Of course these are eggs I had shipped to me also.

Well, they just aren't very big and the air-sac isn’t as big as my last hatch either, granted I know all hatches are different this just looks awkward... I candled again last night before bed when my room was pitch black and I could see movement in all but one; they filled up a little more than half the egg so I'm hoping I'm just over reacting and seeing things thanks to taking pain killers for an infection in my mouth. So all in all, I think I'm hallucinating and my eggs are fine lol... I will post a pic of the weird air sac egg that was a late quitter so you can compare.

This is what the late quitters air sac looked like, now these weren't shipped so I don't know what happened here... There were also two infertiles that had airs sac with little bubbles everywhere.

Good luck everybody with their hatches!!

We had a power outage for an hour!!!!!!! I covered the bator and it stayed at 92 all the hour. the humidity raised up to 73% and this is the worst news, my little brother went besides the bator and opened a little window and it fell and it cracked an egg!!

I have one pip this morning. They are due on Sunday so it might be a while before anything really happens.

11 hatched! and I have one that piped a long time ago and is still trying to hatch. When he piped I thought he was dead so I removed the shell where the he had made the pip and there he was! he was breathing and chirping. Also I saw some blood vessels but very tiny like they were drying up. So I didn't intervene because there were still blood vessels. Tomorrow night if he doesn't crack more the shell or haven't made any progress I will go and help him. If he makes a crack I will leave him until he gives up. Pics coming soon =]
