Holy Chicken!!!

Sad update...shortly after my last post I went to sit with and talk to it and it began to struggle to breathe and it's rhythmn was off. It finally just quit. I tried to revive it again for, literally, 8 minutes but it never came back. I feel blessed that I brought it back the first time at all and I gave it an extra hour being held and cuddled and talked to. I have it's brother/sister and it is doing well but it was heartbreaking watching the little thing die. I'm sure there is a life lesson in the situation somewhere. Thanks all for your encouragement. I would definitely do it again! I felt so empowered when I watched it begin to breathe again after my first efforts to resucitate it...ah well it is probably better off because I doubt it would have ever been a strong chicken and may have suffered from ailments related to it's weakness. Again, though, would do it again.

Thank you so much! I'm kinda down about it but proud too of my efforts. The little one was only out of the egg and in my care for an hour or so total but it made a big impact on me.
