We also have spots in the yard where some ones big foot stepped, making a huge hole and then a foot of fluffy snow covering it.

So I will be just walking along minding my own business and end up in a 2 foot trench!!

Just got in from shoveling . We started at 9 and it's finally done . My poor SO has been on the tractor since 9 also and is still not done plowing ! It is about 15 degrees here and with the wind blowing it feels more like 0 .

Ok, so these pictures are from one year ago but we are hoping for a repeat this year... my kids love the snow and we like getting snowed in. We have a generator so we don't have to worry if we lose power and we like to use our Aladdin lamps and candles. We actually have only had a storm like these pictures about four times in the last 20 years. We keep hoping...

The first one is my 15 yr. old son standing by a field of snow where the wind cut away down to ground level, the second is what we found when we opened our garage door and the third is at the end of our driveway. We couldn't get our cars up the drive for over a week and they got snowed in at the end of the drive. You'll notice that in some spots you can see bare ground ... gotta love the wind out here. We can have eight foot drifts and bare ground ten feet away.

The snow completely covered our fencing for two months. I'd put my horses out to pasture and when they wanted they would just walk over the fences and back up to the barn! Of course, I had to walk them over the fences to 'put them in' the pastures.

Ok, Coloradochick - we'll just pray for the repeat out here on the plains.

Smitty - we only have a measly five inches on the ground right now.

It was hilarious though, trying to get to the barn last year. I literally had to wade through three to four feet of snow. I was so tired trying to wade through it that I ended up crawling through/on top of it. My 120 lb. dog found out that if she 'walked on' my legs and back it was much easier for her!!! It was so funny that I was laughing so hard I couldn't breath and yell at her to get off me. She kept pushing me two feet down into the snow - I thought I was going to have a heart attack by the time I got to the barn. Dogs.....
