I grew up in that area too! Weston, Texas. Knew just about everyone from Anna, Melissa, Celina, Van Alstyne, Prosper, McKinney, Princeton, Farmersville and in between.

Hello and welcome! Congratulations on your decision to get chickens. You won't regret it. Be sure to post pictures and tell us about your coop and flock when they arrive. I have two German Shepherds also. I keep them seperate from the flock with a chain link fence as that seemed like the easiest and most hassle-free solution.
