Holy, what to do!!

I built this coop about 6 months ago I like it . Its around 360 sq ft three sided coop. Its so hot here you gotta have three sided coops. I'll probably never find out what happened to my girl because I messed up & put her body in the freezer. I told the lady at the vets office what I was doing & she never told me to not freeze it. The vet told me you shouldn't have froze it. Well , I took him some fecal samples though. He didn't think she got sick from cocci. He thinks it was some type of bacteria.Probably, a weak gene in the flock is my guess. Guess, I'll find out if they have worms though.
The rain situation is better than last year thats for sure my gardens did super. Seems you can never get enough rain where I am the ground is like being at the beach & the water just goes straight through it. I got my fall garden planted so hopefully will get rain & I can sell some veggies, eat some & feed the birds through the winter. Thats the plan anyway. Planted a lot of broccli, greens, kale, carrotts & more.
I guess yall got the drought this year right? I think droughts are something the good lord has to kill off the plague are somthing that could harm us or the wildlife who knows. Take care & keep an eye out for your flocks. Yesterday was not a good day for me. I drudged through it & worried all night about my flocks.

Too bad about the girl. I hate the not knowing what happened. It puts me on edge.

Good luck with the garden! We got our share of drought here this summer, too. Most of our gardens got wiped out in a flash flood at the start of the planting season here, but that was pretty much it for rain all spring and summer. It was a lousy year for growing anything but weeds. I envy you the 2 growing seasons. We barely have one, and if something goes awry during that one, you get nothing.

I hope your loss was just a one off, and that you don't have anymore problems.

Good luck.

Yea me too. Dang girl should of told me. I told her what I was fixin to do. Well, hinesight don't work. I put her in the ground today.I guess your getting ready for winter. I don't know much about anything further than Dallas Texas. It gets cold here but its a different kind of cold. My farm is on top of a hill & its just the dang cold wind that cuts right through you. I usually block one window in one of my coops & thats it the chickens are ready for winter.
My birds love winter its the summers that are the big problem. I can pretty much grow stuff all year long except for July & August its too hot. I love Texas but its gotta be the hottest dang place around. It gets cold for a few hours in the morning & about noon your back in shorts & flip flops. If your a late sleeper you never even no its winter. Here I am saying this & this winter will be covered in snow. LOL I doubt it I can count the days its snowed here on one hand.
