Who is enjoying their very own bird today that was raised solely for the purpose of a Thanksgiving meal? What kind of bird, and how was it? Next year, I see a home grown BBB Turkey in our tables future.

-Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! Enjoy good eats and memorable family time.

I'm thinking the same thing!

I want to see weights and what breeds were raised.

I've seen weights of processed birds in here that I'd have to build an extra oven outside to be able to cook it.

My whole meat flock was lost this year.

No homegrown birds for the holidays. I did get a lovely half steer from a local cattle(wo)man, though. I'll be enjoying that, instead.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Oh what a shame! I lost a lot of birds this year too. No turkeys though only for lack of space.

I'd be thrilled with the steer though!!!!!!!!

We are having a Black Spanish tom who weighs in around 15-17lbs. We were going to have a BBB tom, but he was too big for our oven at close to 30lbs so we sold him to a friend who was having a lot of family over. We also sold one Black Spanish and two Blue Slate hens that ranged from 9-11lbs.
