What a difference from my hen hatched and home raised chicks from hatchery ones. Mine went immediately to free range pasture. They learned the cluch of their mother and seldem left her side. Even when they did, when she called they came. She taught them get up high at night and protect themselves for the others. When taken away from mon at 4 wks old, what they learned is just night and day difference from the hatchery or incubated ones. This appears the way to go to produce a more natural and healthy flock.
