Home made ACV question

I made some homemade ACV out of Braggs and frozen juice considerate. I checked on it and there is a film on top. Is that the mothers or mold?

I didn't know you could make your own - how'd you do it? Wouldn't mold make it smell bad? Maybe you could tell that way.

I do believe that mothers is on the bottom. Look up making homemade acv online. Hope this helps.

I generally buy cider vinegar from my local apple orchard and then use some of it to start a new batch when I get toward the end. But I also found a recipe on line.

You could start with the apples or with already pressed cider. I'd use orchard cider though, since it won't have the preservatives usually found in store cider.
