Home made Bator

The thing is these eggs are over 14 days old. I've seen that if you keep them for more than 10 days the hatching rate goes down hour by hour. I don't have a water heater thermostat. I really want to get these eggs in as soon as I can

My first thought is fire hazard.. Many a building has gone up in smoke because of light bulbs in cardboard boxes used for chick brooders.. see the parallel, here?

Look at Miss Prissy's thread on making homemade incubators, like the cooler incubator. https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=8510

The
first one I made only took a couple of hours. I sould suggest not using the cardboard, because it will absorb the moisture that the eggs need. Use a rubbermaid tote or something else if you can. You can use a regular paper egg-carton from the store to hold the eggs while you incubate them, and just lift one end, and then the other to "turn" them.

I think you would be making a big mistake by trying to put a bulb in a box and hoping for the best without any way to regulate the heat. It seems if you have eggs in your fridge you have access to eggs most of the time. Why dont you do some research, buy a reasonable insulated box and a thermostat and build an incubator you might be proud of in the long run and that stands a reasonable chance of hatchign a few chicks. Your odds are near zeroe with the approach you propose.

well, I use a cooler with a heating pad. I also have a poporri pot in there the kind you fill with liquid. I just fill it with water for humidity. But you have to put air holes around the bottom and top for air flow.
