I don't see how that's relevant to my question.super sorry to say this, seems like you love your ducks. but it’s not fair at all to keep a duck if you can’t get them the food they need to stay healthy, ducks can live 20 years and will cost a lot. mine are almost 3 and have costs thousands of dollars already.
It's totally relevant. If you can't feed them properly then keeping them only hurts them.I don't see how that's relevant to my question.
That's... why I'm here...It's totally relevant. If you can't feed them properly then keeping them only hurts them.
I understand that you're trying to do right by them, but fatty is right. They could cost you thousands, and if they aren't maintained properly then they WILL need vet care.
I know. But they can't live off of human food and zero formulated feed, and if they did they wouldn't be healthy. Maybe an older duck just maintaining weight could, but a growing duck needs more nutritionally. Proper chicken or duck feed is very important at this age.That's... why I'm here...

Then list your state or go to the storeAgain, that's why I'm here.
Thank you. I've mostly avoided using this site because I was just being told what I already know and discouraged from actually trying to keep my ducks healthy and alive. I'm glad to know at least some members are more caring and helpful than others.@mypoorducky You're asking good questions and doing your best for your ducks. Always a wide range of opinions on this forum. Take what's useful to you and let go of the rest.![]()
