Home-made duck feed recipe?

Then list your state or go to the store😉.

Are you the only one who wants them? If so, they're going to cause a lot of stress.

We don't have a mix it up in your kitchen recipe for ducks. If we did lots of people wouldn't bother buying formulated feed. There are temporary things you can (and already are) feed them, but they're still developing and this stage is very important.
Please list such things that I can feed my ducks. I'm not interested in anything else right now. Surely the stuff in commercial feed isn't magic?

I don't see how that's relevant to my question.
100% relevant. if you can’t buy them feed you shouldn’t have them, they can’t just eat human food their entire lives. it’s not fair to them at all.

not saying this to be mean, but if you care about your ducks as much as it seems like you do, you should find them a nice home.

I know. But they can't live off of human food and zero formulated feed, and if they did they wouldn't be healthy. Maybe an older duck just maintaining weight could, but a growing duck needs more nutritionally. Proper chicken or duck feed is very important at this age.
I have several books on feeding animals written before commercial feed was invented
, The animals were well cared for and healthy, likewise, before the seventies our dogs and cats rarely saw a tin of dog food. Feeding without big feed merchants is possible and good. I fed chickens like that for a number of years many years ago, my parents (farmers up to the forties) were amused I was looking for the "right" feed. Many commercial feeds have all kinds of stuff you wouldn't eat in them!

They're not going to eat human food their entire life. My temporary feed situation is just that: temporary. I'm here to know what I can feed my ducks to keep them healthy, not get scolded for having them.

Feel free to share. OP needs help.

you said it’s already been a month, that is way too long to go without a proper diet. at this point you honestly are keeping them more for yourself than you are for their own happiness

Oh yes. I have looked into these things myself. I want to be more self sustaining and less reliant on feed manufacturers.
