Home made Waterer and Feeder

The waterer is the same concept but the holes are about an inch from the bottom.
 
Er, your waterer pic didn't load for me but I hope that you have a LID for that water bucket, that seals good 'n' airtight. (This is rare to find, which is why I mention it).

Even if you do, it is going to be awful hard to fill that waterer without all the water running out. Waterers like this depend on the vacuum principle

If you want to use a 5 gal bucket, you generally need to put it upside down (NOT bolted to the pan) with the holes along the *rim*. You fill it in its normal orientation, put the pan on top, and hold it there while you invert the whole thing.
