Home remedy for gapeworm that worked for me!

I had a chicken with breathing problems (sticking neck out when breathing in, wheezing, lathargic) and concluded she had gapeworm. I saw a post about an old home remedy and I tried it. I took butter and added ash to it, gave it to the sick hen (2 doses in 2 days) and she became completely normal! I just love old time remedies because they work!! I'm sure more extreme cases could use 2 times a day or more, so I'm guessing I caught it early. I don't like the idea of using medicines that may be ingested through their eggs, so this is great! I hope this helps others out there that have the same problem! Let me know if this happens to you and if it works for you or not!
