I love it! And I have to laugh. I have a bunch of cochins with a beautiful new barred hen and as I was cleaning the coop out on Saturday I was thinking how she's my new favorite! You read my mind!

Absolutely love it!

Lisa, here is your house. I really like the side view as it adds so much more lovely detail. I kinda fudged the brick. This way will give me much less work to do and, I think, won't over power the rest of the portrait.

We could get rid of the trees if you'd like or keep them and add some flowers around the foundation.. I think that would be nice... depends on what you want this for.

If you just want to put your last name and house # on it and hang it at the end of the driveway, I would keep it simple. If you're planning on displaying this as an art piece inside, do it up

I plan to add a bit more detail in the siding with paint.

Your signs are spectacular. Do you think if I sent you some homemade West Virginia coney sauce we could trade??

Whenever you're ready, just give me a holla. Houses usually run around 100 depending on size and detail. Animals usually run less unless you get two or more of them. ..then you're back up to a 100. It really is a lot of work. I do the sketch for free and design the sign at no cost but then I have to hand carve the image into the wood which is very time consuming. I then use a dremmel tool to dig it deeper and do the finer details. I then burn then paint then stain all the crevices... then I coat with poly. After all that hubby frames it up. I realize these are expensive but I just like reminding everyone of the many hours that are involved every so often so no one thinks Im running some kinda racket!!

Oh, that's a great price! I will let you know when I am ready to be on your list!

And no, I wasn't poking fun! My family is from Glasgow, WV and my granny just recently passed on her coney sauce recipe to me. I love WV hotdogs, 'slaw and all! I grew up eating them that way and I am actually making them for the Chickenstock we are hosting.

Awesome. Im not born and raised WV but have grown to love it here. I didn't realize what the coney sauce was but I'd love to get a recipe. Im always into trying new stuff. Is that regular cole slaw they put on them?

I hosted a ChickenStock this Spring and it was a big hit. Im hoping to do another this Fall as everyone is asking about it. Have a great time and enjoy all the chicken chat!!

Traditional WV hotdog is a hotdog on a bun, coney sauce, chopped onion, shredded cheese and cole slaw. It's delish! You will have to PM me for the recipe later on, I have been sworn to secrecy!
We have about 130 guest planning on attending the chickenstock, I hope we all survive lol

Oh, and I advertised on Craigslist for our Chickenstock. We were invaded!!! in the morning. After the battle, around 9am... not a chicken was left ...except for my showy banties that everyone wanted for $5 ea.

That looks great! Definately keep the trees. We have over 30 around the house. I believe this will be kept in the house for display so please feel free to add flowers and maybe that Creole OEG rooster?
