Well got the girls today. 4 EE's they all have some lavender in their feathers. They are soo pretty. Hopefully we'll have a nice day and get some good pics. I was unbeleivably excited to have an egg just a few hours after they got here. Yipee.
Light green with lil white specks. The specks are kinda weird and i remember my old hens doing that they are raised and look like white egg crushed real fine and glued to outside of green egg. WEIRD
Yeah Imago: It turned out really well. I really wanted EE's already laying and found someone but kinda had a time frame to pick them up. So a couple calls and some muscle later and new coop.
Have to wait for sis to get back with cam she took it out of town. will get on here very soon. Got some good news though boss's husband manages local paint store and has a gallon of red mistint selling me for $3. Woohoo. This coops cost me enough already.
So here are some pics of my coop. I will be painting it today. Cutting out two more windows and adding hinged openings for extra summer ventilation. I am also adding a 4x4 coop extension for my teenagers with a wire mesh divider so older chickens can get used to them. After chicks move in to the big coop i'll either open it up and just add floor space or keep it as infirmary or breeding coop. Tell me what you think.
I know that the run is a lil too small but working on much larger one this week.
One of my EE girls. They all finally started laying and I had to mess it up with additional construction.
Yesterday's addition. New exterior nest box. Still needs a lil work. But seeing as it's supposed to be sunny and 70's today, it should'nt be a problem.
