Hello everyone! I decided to try something today... making my own egg incubator!!! I know this may not work but ima give it a shot. My set up is a cardboard box with holes on both sides. On the inside I layed down a towel but a small bowl of water in there, used my brooder on heat setting, and put the eggs under it. There is a small thermometer in there but I am going to get a digital thermometer that can measure humidity as well. Hopefully something will turn out lol

Cardboard won't work well, if at all. try a plastic tote.
The cardboard will absorb any humidity you'll remotely create, you'll probably need to add a humidifier for humdity (about 45%-then boosted to (60% ish for lockdown) and it would get soggy and collapse. It's good you have holes, oxygen is super important

do you have a thermostat controller? I would hook that up to the brooding plate. surface temp on the plate may be too hot. I would also put the eggs above the heat source rather than under as heat travels up.
