hi, this is a quick watering idea, for our { 7 } 7.5 week old whyandotts, all our smaller size chick water feeders did not last through the night, so i just quickly made this out of the giant bottle we got from the cat litter ,wile my hubby was in hospital, it works well for now, instead of buying more water feeders& at what cost...? we are planning on installing the nipple water type delivery system, we got 5 nipples for that kind of installation for around $ 5.00 & FREE shipping last week from AMAZON....! ; ) & they install onto a 3/4 inch pipe , when my husband is feeling better, but this bottle its an

idea shaped bottle really works great, they dont knock it over and it stays clean, I could attach it to the wall if need be..? , its a more flat shaped bottle that really came in handy.....lol.. and saved us money, take care Dianna :)

wow I have to say im surprised how well this home made water feeder works, its great & stays clean, I will use it for as long as its still working well for our peepers ,we may even wait to install the saddle style drinking water nipples system, here one pic of our 7.5 week old silver laced whyandotts they love this water feeder. :)

My feeders: Each one holds about 25 lbs of feed.

My waterer w/horizontal nipples: It lasts at least a week, but when it's hot I will change it more often to keep the water fresh.

My grit & oyster shell dispenser:

I used to put my grit in a bowl on the ground. They were always turning it over or burying it with deep litter.

all of your ideas are great ideas....!!! good going...!!!

Hi all, as you can see I have just added a nipple water to our coop. The girls took to it immediately, but as you can see water is getting everywhere. The nipples are not dripping fast but is there anything I can do about this?

As some of you have these inside the coop I assume either I have done something wrong, or I can make modifications. Or maybe they are just 4 girls with a drinking problem (a bit sloppy).

Thanks for any advice.

I just replaced the nipples with the watering cups. Not a drop on the ground. A bonus is the gurgling and smacking sounds that they make when drinking. I also added a float to fill their bucket. No more running out if water. Yay!!!!
