No doubt! I gave up. My DH loves me and my cooking so I should be content with that but I'm not. I would like to be healthier than I am now. Oh well,,,,

Ooops..I just posted this question in the canning section..sorry will try again...

I just put bread in the oven and realized I forgot the oil..what will I have??

I can't believe I did this ..I make it twice a week..!!

I get so used to making a recipe that I sometimes forget an ingredient, too. How did it turn out? I forget what I forgot to add when making this a few months ago and let me tell you...this recipe is soooo forgiving. I couldn't even tell anything was missing. Let us know.

Hmmm... I wonder if you added to much flour or if you over baked it? I've never had this bread come out tough.

i took the gump bread ingredients and to it i added 3/4 cups sugar let it rise for an hour then put about 1/2 in oil in a pan heat it up pull small chunks of dough off at a time use your fingers to spread it flat and place in hot oil brown on both sides and place right away into bowl of powdered sugar and coat the bread and enjoy
we call these gallets
this goes really well with homemade hot cocoa

I've forgot the oil before too, and yes! It does make a BIG difference! Glad you figured out what you did and that you are enjoying it so much!
