I have looked at this thread many times, but having never baked any bread until getting a sourdough starter a couple of weeks ago, I was leery of trying. I decided today to give it a go. I'm so glad I did. Awesome bread!

Goodness, it never crossed my mind about making doughnuts with this recipe but of course you could!!! I try to stay away from doughnuts as I can't stop eating them!! Just deep fry them!

I agree! I made stromboli out of one loaf and a broccoli/ cheese/ ranch wrap out of the other. It is SOOOO versatile!

Has anyone tried to 1/2 this recipe? (I've read most of this thread but may have missed it, sorry if it's a repeat question)
DS is officially off the no hard food due to tonsils being removed diet tomorrow. He's requesting stromboli but I only have 1 packet of yeast. Do you think it will work?

Henry'schickens :

Made a batch several weeks ago. Put one loaf in the freezer. It is thawing and doing the second rise so we can bake it and have it with bean and ham soup tonight!.

How do you do that? I'd like to try making this, but I don't want to make two loaves. At what point do you put the dough in the freezer?

Also, I haven't read this entire thread, but does anyone know if there's mention in here of making it in a bread machine?
