Homemade hatcher temp issues

At day 19 when you put your eggs in the turner, temperature is not that critical anymore humidity is.
I believe commercial hatcheries run their hatchers at 98 to 99 temp.

I am trying to run my Little Giant as a hatcher around 98-99 and do not worry much about temp fluctuations.
I think lower temp is safer than too high in hatching process.

If you put anything on the thermostat it should be a heat sink off of a prossor or something similar. You wont it to cycle faster. Sticking it to a container of water would extend the cycle time an make the temperature vary even more.

^^ Faster the thermostat cycles the more stable the temp. On a LG or most other bator the indicator light is constantly flashing which means it is cycling. As stated above put it on a sink and move as close to the source of heat as you can get.

Humidity on both my bators, a LG and a homemade, affects the temp also. Keep Humidity stable. I found on mine that when the humidity drops the temp rises and when raising the humidity temp drops. I guess this is why a rain forest has lower temps than a dessert.
