Hello!

5/10 of my Wyandotte eggs have successfully hatched with no problems on day 20 approx (smaller than eggs left).
The 5 left, I candled remaining today and no moment or Internal pipping (as far as I can see) Preformed float Test, all still viable. What can I do next?

Should I be seeing movement when candling at this stage?
Will I hear tapping if not internally pipped?

Help!

At this stage i would hope to see movement but just because they weren’t moving when you candled, doesn’t mean there’s nothing there. Have you candled these before?

Hi there,

Yes they have been candled through the whole process, with movement noted.. Is it possible for 5/10 to fail so late in the game? The others that have hatched were in smaller eggs.. Could it just be a matter of time as they are larger eggs?

Just wait if you can. I had one that was 4 days late

If there’s been movement in them previously i would wait longer for sure. Wait until day 25 and if still nothing then maybe have another look at them. Smaller eggs usually do hatch before larger ones so i would say that’s what has happened here.
