Homemade incubator egg tray questions.

Ok so i have a homemade incubator and i have spent the last few days trying to get the temp to stay right, not that i have gotten that what do i use to put the eggs in. I noticed in the homemade incubator pics that alot of people use the paper cartons but i have also read stories of the paper cartons getting to wet with high humidity and sticking to the eggs. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks in advance.

THe tray can have several functions, so you will need to find a tray that works for your particular incubator.

Do the chicks need to be contained so they don't fall to a lower level?
Do the chicks need to be protected from a hot bulb or two?

Thnk about wire basket like used in drawers; drawer lines add good footing and prevents feet falling thru small holes in basket.

Rat wire can be bent to make a basket; cut edges are sharp: cover with duct tape or fold out of reach.

Plastic caddies.

Thanks, The chicks wont be high up they will be on the bottom. Will it be fine if i take drawliner and set the eggs on those on there sides?
