Homemade Incubator! HELP!!!!

Do you even have a thermostat? I don't see one.You can get one for a hot water heater for less than $10 at HD or Lowe's. You need to wire the thermostat into the light fixture. I've never heard of someone ajusting the height of the light in an incubator. LOL I guess anything could work.

Here's the page for instructions for DIY incubators. https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/homemade-chicken-egg-incubator-designs-pictures

You also didn't mention how you're going to deal with humidity at lockdown. It you are raising the glass, it's going to be really hard to raise humidity so they can hatch and not die in their shells.

Here is my DIY homemade incubator, hatchbox for lockdown & Nursery brooder :) I'm a DIY homeschooling mama who tries to make the most out of what I have. I was able to regulate the temps by raising each box & regulate humidity in each box. I had 50% rate on my 1st hatch :0 I thought that was perfect for our science project!

Whatever works. Heck I hatched my first 3 eggs under my lamp on my nightstand, in a shoebox, filled with cotton when I was 12. Two hatched. LOL

I remember people putting eggs in a bucket on a sunny porch, covered with a towel and chicks hatched!
