Have a look at this post, I've added pics of my homemade incubator on there. Might give you some ideas regarding the fans. I only have one hole(vent) on either side of my incubator to for ventilation. The holes are about 3/4" round in size. It's my first time doing this too. I've had my eggs in the incubator for 5 days now. Seems to be working good so far.
