Hey everyone! If this isn't posted in the proper place please feel free to move it to the correct location.

I have been wrackingmy little brain for a way to water my chickens and turkeys without having to carry all the different waterers every morning and evening. Here is what I have come up with.

I took a piece of 4" PVC thin wall pipe (mine are about 6 feet in length) and 2 caps. I drilled a 5/8" hole through one of the caps and installed a pvc male adapter from the inside through the cap and then screwed on a 1.2" female adapter onto the male that was coming out of the cap. I then glued both caps onto the pipe. I drilled 2 9/16" holes about every 8-10" along the length of the pipe so that the birds could drink from it. I hung the entire pipe with galvanized wire on the inside of the pen wire up off the ground where thei could all reach it. I connected a hose to the 1/2" fitting on the pipe cap (these vary with how you need to hook up your hose) and attached the other end to the water spigot! I simply turn the spigot on low and let it fill up until it overflows and then shut it off. The 6' length holds about 6-8 gallons of water. To clean it, you just have to take it loose from the fence and turn it over and turn on the water. It will flush itself clean in a couple of minutes! (Sorry I don't have pictures, cameras and I don't get along well)

I wish you could post a picture of this so I could show it to my husband! We (I am speaking for him also) would love to see it! theresa

Do the same thing with 4" pvc. Desired length pie, glue end cap on one end, a regular 90 and a street 90.

Turn it over to fill, stand upright to water. Cost about $5

Truth be told, I probably could too, but it gives DH something to do with his tools! He enjoys making things for "my coop".
